History of The Prospector

The Prospector is an Arc Exotic Grenade Launcher from Year One.

Overview

Its Excavation trait creates cluster bombs when grenades detonate, and defeating targets creates Arc explosions. Chain Reaction was added to the intrinsic in December 2022. The curated magazine holds four rounds.

Acquisition

It drops from Exotic engrams and as a rare world drop; Xûr's stock changes weekly.

Catalyst

Bungie added Danger Zone to the catalyst on June 9, 2026, alongside its stat increase. The catalyst is completed by defeating enemies with The Prospector, and its source is listed under the Exotic Catalysts section of Triumphs. Older guides describing the former catalyst name Deeper Pockets and Heroic or Nightfall Strikes.
