History of The Last City

The '''Last City''' is humanity's final refuge on Earth, built beneath the Traveler. It is the central social hub of Destiny 2, where players receive missions and use vendors.

== Structure ==

• The Tower stands atop the Wall, built by early Titan orders. It is the Vanguard headquarters with the Courtyard, Hangar and Vault. It was destroyed in the Red War and rebuilt as the New Tower.
• City districts include the Anchor, Botza, Market and the Eliksni Quarters; parts were destroyed in conflict.

== History ==

In 2017 the Cabal Red Legion under Dominus Ghaul launched a surprise attack on the Last City. Guardians lost their Light temporarily and eventually liberated the city. During the The Witch Queen campaign, Guardians learned the Traveler willingly granted Light to the Hive's lightbearers. The city is now governed by the Vanguard under Ikora Rey and Zavala.
