History of The Dragon's Shadow

Overview

The Dragon’s Shadow is Exotic chest armor for Hunters from Year 1. Bungie’s current item description says Wraithmetal Mail readies weapons faster and makes them more stable; dodging temporarily improves those benefits, reloads the equipped weapon from reserves, improves movement speed, and increases the class-ability stat. The item description specifies the equipped weapon, not every weapon. The lore references The Hidden and Chalco Yong speaking to Ikora Rey.

Acquisition

• Exotic engrams and world drops: The item catalog lists these as sources.
• Exotic Armor Focusing: Bungie’s July 15, 2025 update says Novel Focusing for past-expansion Exotic armor is immediately available without a Rahool rank reset.
