History of The Derelict

The Derelict is the Drifter's personal ship and mobile base of operations, introduced in the Forsaken expansion (4 September 2018). It is the assembly point where Guardians gather before being transmatted into Gambit matches. Wikipedia notes it "leads into the realm of the Nine in unknown space" (see Unknown Space).
Overview
The Derelict tows a massive globular object called the Haul, far larger than the ship itself. The Drifter says he recovered it from an extremely cold place beyond known space; Season of the Drifter revealed it was a gift from The Nine via their Emissary, Orin. The ship also holds sealed storage areas with egregore samples the Drifter collected for years before the Vanguard knew of them (discovered by Eris Morn, who has remarked that it hides unexplored wonders).
Getting there
The Derelict is a social/launch space reached through the Drifter's Gambit playlist rather than as a patrol destination. It has been sighted in various skies, including over Titan.
Crew and vendors
The Drifter is the vendor. Destinypedia says Aunor Mahal, Eris Morn and Eido joined the crew in the Renegades expansion.
Activities
- Gambit matchmaking, played on maps such as Deep Six and New Arcadia.
- Vendor: the Drifter (see Drifter).
History
First appeared in Destiny 2: Forsaken and has featured in multiple seasons and episodes, most recently (per Destinypedia) Renegades and Reclamation.
Not to be confused with
The Derelict Leviathan, the ruined remains of Calus's ship, is a different location.
