History of Strange Cache

The Strange Cache is the reward chest that a Strange Signal leads to. Collecting 50 Strange Matter converts it into a Strange Signal, which marks a spot on the destination map.

At the marked spot, the chest is locked inside a Distortion bubble and guarded by several Elite combatants led by a Shield of the Distorted. Defeating the Shield unlocks the chest so its loot can be collected.

Location

The Strange Signal's Distortion can appear on several destinations, including the European Dead Zone, Nessus and the Moon.

Rewards

Destinypedia lists the chest as containing Legendary Tier 5 Monument of Triumph gear, an Ascendant Shard and Ascendant Alloy.

Opening Strange Caches counts toward the Cache Chaser triumph.
