History of Sire's Obligation

Overview

Sire's Obligation is a 45-second buff gained by standing in a blue light pool in the Starcrossed Exotic mission. It reveals the symbols above Obdurate Phalanxes and lets you damage enemies that are otherwise immune. Blue pools are also visible as pillars of light and provide the buff again during Open The Way.

Combining

Holding Sire's Obligation together with Dam's Gift (the orange buff) creates Crowned by Dragons, a 45-second buff that provides both effects. Standing in either buff type refreshes its timer. Crowned by Dragons is needed in Deactivate The Barrier and in the Akardon arena, which is covered in fog.

Trivia

Some guides describe the blue source as a flower circle rather than a pool, which reflects the in-game visuals differing between sources.
