History of Seasonal Activity

Seasonal Activity is the generic in-game launch entry for the current season's featured fireteam activity (the in-game blurb: join a fireteam to overcome challenges and crush your foes). It is not one fixed mode; each season supplies its own, such as the Battlegrounds of Season of the Chosen, Gambit Prime and The Reckoning of Season of the Drifter, or later seasons' activities.

Examples

• Season of the Chosen: Battlegrounds (three-player matchmade, Cabal and Hive themed).
• Season of the Risen: PsiOps Battlegrounds, infiltrating Lucent Brood strongholds with help from Empress Caiatl's Psions (per Wikipedia).
• Season of the Seraph: Heist Battlegrounds at Warmind facilities, a three-player matchmade activity (per Wikipedia).
• Season of Plunder: Ketchcrash and Expeditions.

History

Before The Witch Queen, seasonal activities from earlier seasons were removed when new ones arrived; the Battlegrounds were the exception and joined the Vanguard Ops Playlist (merged on 22 February 2022). Since The Edge of Fate, older seasonal content can appear in Fireteam Ops in The Portal, which TheGamer describes as including strikes, battlegrounds and older seasonal activities; the Portal also has a Seasonal Hub for challenges.
