History of SIVA Crisis

The SIVA Crisis was an outbreak of SIVA nanotechnology in the Rise of Iron storyline. About a year after the Taken War, the Fallen House of Devils unearthed SIVA while looting Golden Age tombs.

Aksis, Archon Prime led the Devil Splicers, who infused themselves with SIVA, infected other Devils, and aimed to become machine gods. SIVA reanimated old enemies and turned friendly weapon systems against the Guardians. Lord Saladin could not contain the outbreak alone and recruited Guardians to help stop it.

The Guardians destroyed the replication chamber, which disrupted Splicer production. The Vanguard then quarantined affected areas.
