History of Ritual Amplifier

Ritual Amplifier is the objective item placed during the Season of the Haunted Sever - Forgiveness mission, the Severance ritual with Zavala in the Garden of the Derelict Leviathan. A guide counts two: one placed after clearing the Scorn in the Containment area (the guide calls it "the second Ritual Amplifier from last week", i.e. it follows the earlier Sever - Shame and Sever - Grief missions) and one at the top of the cylindrical jumping section. Sources do not explain what the amplifiers do mechanically; they gate progress toward the Nightmare fight. Destinypedia's page for the mission lists only "Place Ritual Amplifier" objectives.
