History of Reefborn

Overview

Reefborn is the name for the Awoken who stayed in the Reef, a debris field in orbit within the asteroid belt of the Sol System. The Reef is ruled by Mara Sov and its Awoken have long kept their distance from the Last City.

Origin of the term

When about a third of the Awoken expedition voted to go to Earth, Mara Sov let thousands of rebels leave. The generations that followed were split into Reefborn, the Awoken who remained in the Reef, and Earthborn, the Awoken who went to the Last City to reunite with humanity.

Traits

Reefborn Awoken are standoffish and look much like baseline humans, with pale blue, purple, green, or gray skin.
