History of Quest

Overview

A Quest is a multi-step objective chain tracked with a quest item. In Destiny 2 story missions are delivered as scenario quests given by NPCs such as Commander Zavala; Exotic quests reward weapons like The Lament.

Notes

Quests were introduced in Destiny 1's The Dark Below as story bounties, per Destinypedia (which describes the original game only). The Destiny 2 step structure here is from Wikipedia's overview; individual quests have their own pages. Abandoned quests are retrievable from a kiosk (Hall of Guardians in Destiny 1).
