History of Proximity Grenades

Grenades fired from this Grenade Launcher detect enemies at a greater distance, but the blast radius is reduced by 20. The perk rolls on Grenade Launchers only. The exact detection distance is not published in the sources used here.

Use

The perk is mainly a reliability trait. Because the grenade reacts to nearby enemies, it still connects when your aim is slightly off, which is why it appears on many PvP launchers. The smaller blast is often offset with blast radius perks or barrels.

Gamingcy lists it as the magazine on several PvP god rolls, including Cataphract GL3, Typhon GL5 and Koraxis's Distress. Gamingcy notes that Koraxis's Distress needs Proximity Grenades and Impulse Amplifier to be usable.
