History of Prototype Tuning

Overview

Prototype Tuning is the set of quests that Ada-1 gives during the Arms Week event. The tuning quests are part of the Initial Calibration chain, which starts at the Shooting Range in the Tower. Each event features a prototype weapon, and the tuning quests are built around it.

Quests

Initial Calibration requires three Prototype Tuning quests from Ada-1: Barrel, Magazine and Traits. Each has its own objective. For example, Barrel asks for precision final blows, Traits asks for rapid kills, and Magazine asks for kills in Portal activities. Progress counts in parallel, so using the prototype weapon in activities advances all three at once. Other events use different tuning quests, such as Bowstring.

Rewards

The tuning quests pay out Combat Telemetry, which is spent with Ada-1 on Arms Week engrams and weapon focusing. One guide notes that a Fragmentation Rounds mod is also given along the chain.
