History of Portalguard

'''Portalguards''' are shielded Hive Lightbearer enemies that guard the Hive portals in PsiOps Battleground: EDZ. The Lucent Portalguard is a Lightbearer Wizard of the Lucent Brood sect, first seen in Season of the Risen. Each must be killed to open the rift it guards, and this happens three times during the activity. Players progress only once the portal is open.

Shield

Each Portalguard is protected by an immunity shield. To break it, the fireteam first defeats a Lucent Reliquist and takes its Cleaver. Sources call the weapon a Hive Relic or Hive Sword. Ghosts of certain enemies, including Portalguards, must be destroyed, or they respawn and block progress.

Difficulty

On Legend, Lucent Reliquists have Arc Absorption Shields that resist weapons and abilities of other damage types.
