History of Phogoth, the Untamed

Phogoth, the Untamed is a Nightmare boss and one of the three possible final bosses of Altars of Sorrow, a Moon public event. Its counterparts are Taniks and Zydron. Phogoth first appeared in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep, in the Nightmare Hunt: Fear mission, and it returned in Destiny 2: The Final Shape.

The final encounter is a timed boss fight. Phogoth drops the Blasphemer shotgun, which can roll Rampage and Swashbuckler for damage, and Quickdraw and Opening Shot for Crucible play. One guide describes the Altars boss as rotating weekly, while a Bungie forum thread reports that it no longer rotates, so check the current boss before farming.
