History of Permanent Scriptures

Permanent Scriptures are a scripture type used in the Tome of Want during Episode: Heresy. Unlike Crumbling Scriptures, they are not consumed when a ritual is activated, so they can be reused.

Overview

A Permanent Scripture targets a broad category of gear that can be earned from activities throughout Episode: Heresy, rather than one specific item. Activating a ritual with only a Permanent Scripture costs 2 Essences of Desire.

Acquisition

Permanent Scriptures are a rare drop from slain enemies and chests aboard the Dreadnaught. The Tome of Want page on Destinypedia also describes them as unlocked by exploring the Dreadnaught.

Uses

The By Sigil and Scripture triumph requires acquiring Permanent Scriptures and earning 15 ritual rewards. Completing it unlocks the ability to create Crumbling Scriptures in the Tome of Want.

Episode: Heresy has ended, so the scripture system is a historical mechanic from that episode.
