History of Outer Steppes Strangelet

Overview

The Outer Steppes Strangelet is a quest in the The Edge of Fate campaign that gets the Strangelet Capsule from the Outer Steppes. It becomes available once you reach Quest Step 18 of The Edge of Fate quest, after the Exile's Accord and Central Academy Strangelets have been integrated, and it is accepted at the Altar of Relativity. The capsule it yields is needed for Quest Step 20.

Walkthrough

1. Follow the markers through the Matterspark tunnels to the Stacks (Destinypedia describes meeting Dr. Carnahan here).
2. Defeat the Stasis and Strand Exiles in the area.
3. Drop down the hole in the ground directly in front of your spawn (the objective marker is misleading here), destroy both barrier generators, and use the Relocator Relay to teleport past the natural wall.
4. Charge generators with the Matterspark ability and use further Relocators to move on.
5. Complete the mission "Morphology", which makes heavy use of the new Mattermorph ability.
6. Return the Mattermorph device and complete "Charge" to integrate the capsule into the Altar of Relativity (Destinypedia).

Notes and discrepancies

Destinypedia places the quest in the Outer Steppes on Kepler and lists a longer step sequence involving Dr. Carnahan, a stolen Mattermorph device and an Acceleron; Destructoid and ProGameTalk summaries are shorter and mention only the Matterspark route and "Morphology". The sources may be describing different amounts of detail, so check in-game text.
