History of Neptune Orbit

Revision 3708 by archivist at 2026-10-01 18:24:21

Neptune Orbit is the orbit above Neptune, where in Lightfall the Shadow Legion fleet gathered for its invasion of Neomuna, the hidden city beneath Neptune's clouds. Calus's flagship, the Typhon Imperator, parked on Neomuna, demolishing part of the city. Guardians reach the surface via Neomuna; see that page for regions and activities.

Overview

Wikipedia describes Lightfall (released 28 February 2023) as the point where the Witness directs Calus and his Shadow Legion to Neptune to seize the Veil, with the Typhon Imperator having already arrived and laid siege to Neomuna early in the campaign. Orbit itself is a staging area for that fleet rather than a playable patrol space.

How to get there

Neptune is reached through the free campaign mission "First Contact", which unlocks Neomuna (per Destinypedia). Neomuna has three landing zones: Hall of Heroes, Límíng Harbor and Striders' Gate.

Sub-areas, vendors and activities

Everything playable lives in Neomuna: the vendor Nimbus at Striders' Gate, the weekly Vex Incursion Zone, the Terminal Overload public event and the Root of Nightmares raid (per the Destiny Game Wiki).

Lore

The Cloud Striders, descendants of the Exodus Indigo colony ship, ultimately allied with Guardians and Osiris to repel the invasion and protect the Veil.
