History of Monte Carlo Catalyst

Overview

Monte Carlo Catalyst is the catalyst for the Exotic Monte Carlo auto rifle. Its triumph is the unlock: defeat 700 enemies with Monte Carlo. The catalyst adds the Stochastic Vengeance perk, which turns the weapon's bayonet into a usable melee attack, and upgrades Monte Carlo to a Masterwork with enhanced stats and/or additional perks.

Acquisition

The catalyst is a random drop from strikes, Crucible matches and Gambit matches. There is no guaranteed method, so expect to play for a while before it drops.

How to complete

1. Equip Monte Carlo and play the activities where you will be defeating enemies.
2. Get 700 defeats with Monte Carlo. The fastest farming spots are Shuro Chi and the Loot Cave in Grasp of Avarice.

Tip: Exotic armor such as Synthoceps and Wormgod Caress raises the bayonet's melee damage, which can make it a high burst attack.

Stochastic Vengeance

Once Markov Chain reaches five stacks, the alternate weapon action switches between your melee attack and Monte Carlo's bayonet. Landing a bayonet hit also grants melee energy.
