History of Marked by the Void

Overview

Marked by the Void is a debuff applied to portal players after a Gatekeeper is defeated in the original Destiny Vault of Glass. This historical effect gradually obscured vision and could be cleansed by the relic. In Destiny 2, the Gatekeeper encounter instead centers on passing the relic through portals while managing Teleport Destabilized, a 45-second carry restriction. During Atheon, portal players are blinded while inside; the relic holder must cleanse them there, then cleanse the marked team again after they exit before damage.
