History of Mark of Negation

Overview

This named debuff is associated with Fanatics and missed Oracles in the Templar encounter of Vault of Glass. Fanatics apply it directly or leave pools that inflict it; Oracles also mark the fireteam if they are not destroyed in time. Players can cleanse the mark at the central light pool. If the fireteam remains marked when the Templar performs the Ritual of Negation, the ritual kills the marked Guardians (a team wipe if uncleansed). This is separate from Marked by the Void, the portal debuff in the Atheon encounter.
