History of Magnificent Howl

Overview

Magnificent Howl is the enhanced trait on Luna's Howl Hand Cannon. The number of precision final blows before a reload sets how many rounds get increased range and damage. Precision final blows while the perk is active extend the effect for more rounds.

Balance has changed over time. A Season of Opulence preview called the perk too effective and moved its bonus from headshot damage to body-shot damage. A later Final Shape guide said Bungie made it a little less overpowered in the Crucible. Check the current in-game description, since the two sources describe different versions. The perk often sits in the second column of Luna's Howl, paired with Slideshot in the first column.
