History of Lucent Totems

Lucent Totems are the totems used in the Lucent Tribute encounter of the Altars of Summoning activity. When Alak'nar, Retainer of Savathûn arrives, he activates the totems, which shield him.

Tribute Bearers appear in the arena, and defeating them harvests Burdens of Tribute. Players deposit the tribute at the lit totems to lower Alak'nar's shield, and once it is down the fireteam defeats him. Accounts of exactly how the shield is removed differ slightly.
