History of Legendary Shards

Overview

Legendary Shards were a Destiny 2 currency earned by dismantling legendary or exotic gear and from activities, and spent on gear focusing, infusion and items from Xûr and others.

Removal

Bungie announced shards would be removed starting Season 23, with costs replaced by Ritual Engrams and Glimmer, and the currency was deleted at The Final Shape (Destinypedia, Gfinity). Mentions on older pages predate this.
