History of Lackey

Lackeys are minor enemies in the second encounter of Equilibrium, the fight against Harrow. Two types appear: the Psion Lackey, which periodically spawns at either end of the U-shaped hallway, and the Centurion Lackey, of which one spawns in each of the three outer rooms. Cabal troops also spawn in as Harrow rushes the Guardians.

Killing periodically spawning Lackeys creates pools of Taken energy, which build Gathering Shadow stacks. Enough stacks raise your Shadow Rank to Apprentice, which lets you activate the ship's emergency subsystems with your Shadow grenade on switches in the outer rooms. Centurion Lackeys can also be used later to lower Harrow's shield if he isn't defeated during his Final Stand.
