History of Kataxiia

Overview

Kataxiia, Tormentor of the Ahamkara is an Ultra-rank Dread Tormentor and the main boss of the Liminality strike in The Final Shape. It is found inside a mountain that conceals a memory of the Precursor civilization, whose minds later merged into the Witness.

Encounter

In the first phase, Kataxiia stays fixed at the back of a lava-filled pyramid room and summons Taken forces. Guardians collect Taken Essence from the sides of the room to power two Ahamkara skulls. Once both are powered, Kataxiia becomes unfixed and teleports away.

In the second phase, Kataxiia drops into a large cavern. At half health it teleports into a large skull, becomes fixed, and summons Shadow Thralls. Guardians power two smaller skulls using essence from the Ahamkara's mouths, and once that is done Kataxiia loses its immunity.

In the final phase, Kataxiia retreats to the skull, becomes immobile again, and summons Shadow Thralls and Bound Dread, including Mhakt, Subjugator of the Forgotten. Slaying Mhakt drops Taken Essence to power another skull, which removes Kataxiia's immunity. Defeating Kataxiia completes the strike.
