History of Impetus

Overview

Impetus is the intrinsic trait of the Exotic Merciless. Reloading immediately after a kill increases the weapon's damage for a short time, so it rewards killing and reloading in quick succession.

Numbers

Neither the damage bonus nor the duration is published in the sources. The in-game perk description is the best reference for current values.

Synergies

• Merciless's other intrinsic trait, Conserve Momentum, makes the rifle charge faster on non-lethal hits until it gets a kill. Together the two form a loop: fire to a kill, then reload for the damage boost.
• The Extended Mag perk greatly increases magazine size but greatly decreases reload speed. Keep that in mind, because the boost is triggered by the reload.
