History of Illicit Invader Boots

Overview

The Illicit Invader Boots is a Legendary Leg Armor for the Warlock class. It is in the Armor category and carries the set's intrinsic Invader +1. Its flavor text reads: "You hunt ruthless. Inevitable." It is part of the Illicit Invader set.

The Illicit Invader set is the Invader role armor of Gambit Prime, the single-round variant of Gambit introduced in Season of the Drifter. Every Illicit Invader piece has the intrinsic Invader +1, which unlocks the set perks when several pieces are equipped. Each Illicit piece adds 1 role point, so a full Illicit set reaches +5. Invader role perks unlock at 3, 6, 10 and 15 points: Assassin's Munitions, Lethal Defense, Killmonger and Bank Robber. Assassin's Munitions slowly trickles Kinetic and Energy ammo to your weapons while you invade. Lethal Defense improves the invasion overshield. Killmonger grants a temporary damage bonus after you defeat Guardians while invading. Bank Robber locks the enemy's bank, and standing near it drains their Motes.

Acquisition

Originally earned from The Reckoning, the three-tier PvE mode of Gambit Prime introduced with Season of the Drifter in 2019. Synths were converted into Motes and banked in The Reckoning, and completing it granted a piece of the Invader armor set. Gambit Prime and The Reckoning were vaulted with the release of Destiny 2: Beyond Light in November 2020, so the set can no longer be earned that way.
