History of IV - Promise

Overview

IV - Promise is a Triumph for the fourth lore entry of the Above All Else book, added in Season of Plunder. The entry is a first-person narration by an unnamed narrator who leads a raiding party with Siviks and Rakis, and who refers to their mother.

How to complete

Lore entries are unlocked by finding collectibles or completing tasks. Lore from seasonal books unlocks automatically at the end of the yearly cycle. Once the entry is unlocked, the triumph completes. There are no objectives, score or rewards attached to it.

Story

The raiding party finds a derelict ship of surviving humans near Mars and defeats them. Over Rakis and Siviks's objections, the narrator kills the captives by venting them into space. When the brothers resist, the narrator defeats them and strands them on an asteroid. Returning home, the narrator expects the mother's approval but sees something troubled in her. The narrator later realizes she was ashamed of herself, not of them.
