History of Hive Darkblade

Overview

The Hive Darkblade is a formidable variant of the Hive Knight, a heavy melee unit. The type debuted in Destiny as Alak-Hul, the Darkblade and returned in Destiny 2 as weaker mini-bosses. Most Darkblades are Ultra rank, and some are Major. All ranks are immune to Finishers.

Behavior

The Darkblade slowly advances on the nearest Guardian and swings a large axe. It periodically vanishes and teleports back to launch a surprise attack. After enough damage, or in specific encounters, its helm falls off and it charges.

Abyssal Champion

The Abyssal Champion is an Ultra-rank Hive Darkblade variant. Guardians meet it in the Heroic version of the Witches' Ritual public event on Titan and in weekly Ascendant Challenges in the Dreaming City.
