History of Hex Drinker

Overview

Hex Drinkers are Scorn Wraith variants that appear in the final encounter of Warlord's Ruin, Hefnd's Vengeance (the Blighted Chimaera). Destinypedia lists them as the Corrupted Hex-Drinker, an elite Scorn enemy that is immune to all damage and carries a Solar torch.

Mechanic

Guardians cleanse totems and receive the Hex of Vengeful Corruption, a 17-second debuff that kills the player when it reaches zero. Hex Drinkers appear shortly after the debuff is applied. Meleeing a Hex Drinker transfers the debuff to it, and the Hex Drinker dies if the timer runs out. If a Hex Drinker melees the Guardian first, the debuff transfers back. Guides advise staying mobile near one, passing the debuff when the timer is low and keeping out of melee range afterwards.
