History of Guiding Light

Overview

Guiding Light is a Triumph in Destiny 2 with a single objective, "Progress". The game data gives no description, so the exact trigger is not stated.

Lore

A lore entry of the same name sits in the book A Guardian's Ideals, added with Lightfall in February 2023. The entry honors the Guardians who lead others through Sol's hardest challenges. It notes that every experienced Guardian began as a New Light, and invites readers to recall their own first trips into the Moon's deepest pits and to consider what they would tell their earlier selves.

The entry frames leadership as committing time and effort to help others reach their potential, rather than being the strongest player.

Disambiguation

The name is also used by a Ghost mod that increases XP gains by 10%, and by a transmat effect. Both are separate items and are not part of this triumph.
