History of Guardians and Ghosts

Guardians and Ghosts is a lore book introduced in Lightfall. It explains a Guardian's role and their connection to the Traveler's Light through their Ghost. Its sections include “What It Means…”, “A Guardian's Best Friend”, and “The Traveler.”

“A Guardian's Best Friend” focuses on Ghosts. They find Guardians among the dead and act as scouts, researchers and technicians, and they can sometimes save their Guardian from death. The entry notes that Ghosts are not immortal, so each loss is permanent.

The book unlocks when a player first reaches Guardian Rank 2.
