History of Great Machine

The Great Machine is the Eliksni (Fallen) name for the Traveler. The Fallen were once graced by it and were likely uplifted by its gifts. They lived on their homeworld Riis, where the Traveler visited before coming to the Sol System. When the Black Fleet attacked, the Traveler fled and left the survivors to face them alone.

Eliksni history calls the destruction that followed the Whirlwind. It destroyed Riis and the civilization there. The survivors then fought a civil war over the ruins and made a tenuous peace before traveling into space. The House of Kings and House of Judgement had already ended the Edge Wars during Riis's golden age, so the Houses existed before the Whirlwind.
