History of Grandmaster: A Garden World

Overview

Grandmaster: A Garden World is a triumph in Destiny 2 that requires completing the "A Garden World" Nightfall strike on Grandmaster difficulty. Bungie's data ties it to Season of Arrivals. A 2018 Shacknews guide describes the strike as set on Mercury, with the final boss Dendron, Root Mind.

How to complete

1. Set the Nightfall to Grandmaster difficulty and launch "A Garden World".
2. Mind the timer. The 2018 version had a 22-minute mission timer that could not be extended, so skip enemies you do not need to fight.
3. The enemies are Vex. The Shielded Minotaurs stay stationary until Dendron takes damage. Enter the bubble they emerge from and destroy the cube on top to drop their shield.
4. Against Dendron, use precision damage, since the boss rotates around a round platform with barricades that spawn in and out and pauses now and then.

Loadout tips

• Hunter: Way of the Sharpshooter with the Celestial Nighthawk helmet to boost Golden Gun.
• Titan: two Pulse grenades via Code of the Earthshaker, with Towering Barricade for cover.
• Warlock: Healing Rift, which the guide recommends for the Unbroken challenge (finish with fewer than three deaths).
• The guide's challenges are Speed of Dark (finish with five minutes left, about 17 minutes) and a 90-second Shielded Minotaur kill during the Dendron fight.
