History of Golden Age

Overview

The Golden Age was the centuries-long era of human prosperity that began with the arrival of the Traveler in the late 21st century. Humanity colonised the whole Sol System (including Venus, Mars, The Moon, Mercury and Jupiter), lifespans tripled, and companies such as Clovis Bray built technologies like the Exo. Ancient Vex ruins were discovered and Warminds were built for defence.

End

The Golden Age ended with the Collapse, when the Black Fleet attacked the system. The Traveler sacrificed itself to save the survivors, who retreated to Earth and founded the Last City. Sources differ on details; Destinypedia credits the Black Fleet, while Ishtar Collective frames the Collapse as the Witness's first assault on the Traveler.
