History of Glaives

Glaives are a weapon type introduced with Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. A Glaive is a hybrid melee and ranged weapon that is wielded like a lance, and it is the first melee weapon in the franchise used entirely in first-person. Glaives fire Special ammo projectiles that cannot deal precision damage, and landing hits fills a shield energy meter that holding alt-fire spends to raise a blocking shield. Glaive melee is a three-hit combo with no cooldown.

Notable Glaives include the Legendary The Enigma, which generates shield energy from ranged damage, and the Titan exotic Edge of Action, which places a protective shield. The Dexerto guide was written before launch and last updated in 2022, so its perk details may be out of date.
