Giant's Scar

Overview

Giant's Scar is a landing zone in Echo Mesa on Io, a Red Legion drilling site meant to tap a pocket of Traveler energy. It sat above a hidden Golden Age Warmind vault, and has been overrun by Vex and Taken. It connects to Terrabase Charon, Warmind Vault JYS-2, Excavation Site II and Lost Oasis.

Layout

A large drill takes up most of the northern part of the Scar. It cannot normally be moved, but it can be moved during the story mission Fury, which opens the way into Warmind Vault JYS-2. The vault is hidden under the drill, and a small tunnel east of the drill leads to Excavation Site II, also reachable during Fury.

The Taken hold the southern part, with clusters near the Mining Control Center, and Vex and Taken are both inside that building. In the north, Vex and Taken fight each other around the drill.

Connections

• Terrabase Charon, via a wide ravine on the north end.
• Lost Oasis, via a wide path on the southern end.
• Warmind Vault JYS-2 and Excavation Site II, both through the drill area during Fury.
