History of Forerunner

Forerunner is a Kinetic Sidearm Exotic, the first Special-ammo sidearm in Destiny 2, modeled on the Halo Magnum.

Overview

• Archetype: Sidearm, Kinetic, Special ammo.

Acquisition

Complete the quest Magnum Opus. Per Sportskeeda: collect 7 Strange Coins (Xûr currency from activities and bounties), reach Rank 4 with Xûr to receive a Strange Key, and bring the Anomalous Object to Banshee-44, who repairs it and returns the Forerunner.

Catalyst

Earned by Magnum Opus 2: level Xûr's Strange Favor to Rank 16, claim the Anomalous Access Card, score 225,000 in a Dares of Eternity run, then see Banshee-44. The catalyst turns part of the ammo into an extra grenade, charged by kills with the weapon.
