History of Flashbang

Overview

The Flashbang is an Arc grenade available to Titans, and to all Guardians since Season of Plunder. It bounces once on impact, then explodes shortly after. The explosion damages enemies and blinds them, and a Guardian standing too close is blinded as well. Blinded enemies stop shooting for the effect's duration and move slowly and erratically. Blind lasts about 10 seconds in PvE and roughly 1.5 to 2 seconds in PvP.

Touch of Thunder

With the Arc 3.0 Titan Striker aspect Touch of Thunder, the grenade releases an additional blinding pulse on its first bounce. This makes it far more effective at disorienting enemy Guardians in the Crucible, since the blind lands on the first bounce rather than waiting for the full detonation. Coverage of this aspect dates from the Arc 3.0 launch, so the exact values may have changed in later patches.
