History of First Ascent Vest

Overview

First Ascent Vest is a Legendary chest armor piece for Hunters, part of the First Ascent armor set from The Pale Heart in The Final Shape. The set has a 2-piece bonus, "Stack 'Em Up" (defeating targets with unique elemental damage grants a stacking bonus to Transcendence energy gains while Transcendence is inactive), and a 4-piece bonus, "Burn 'Em Down" (while Transcendence is active, using your grenade ability consumes all stacks to grant escalating grenade energy). Any four of the five pieces activate the full bonus, leaving a slot free for an Exotic.

The other pieces of the set are the helmet, gauntlets, class item and the matching chest or legs for the three classes: Hunter, Titan and Warlock.

Acquisition

Awarded by the quest The Veiled from Micah-10 (the Hunter piece among the three class chest pieces given: First Ascent Vest, First Ascent Plate, First Ascent Robes). The set also drops from activities in The Pale Heart.

Source note: the First Ascent set page lists pieces as dropping from The Pale Heart activities; piece names differ by class.
