History of Fireteam

A fireteam is a group of Guardians who play Destiny 2 activities together.

Overview

Fireteams hold up to three Guardians for most activities and up to six for Raids. They are optional for story missions and patrols, but required for Strikes and raids; entering a strike alone matches you with other players. Players form a fireteam by invitation or by allowing a public fireteam, and members share Fireteam Chat. Fireteams are also needed to bring other players into Darkness Zones, and if every member is down at once, progress resets.

Some activities scale differently, so check the activity page for its own fireteam size.
