History of Escape Velocity

Overview

Escape Velocity is a Legendary Kinetic Submachine Gun in the Kinetic slot with the Lightweight Frame archetype ("Superb Handling. Move faster with this weapon equipped."). Destiny 2 Wiki lists it as introduced in Season 10. Its flavor text quotes Arach Jalaal: "The first step toward truth is to let go of all that we know and hold dear."

Perks: the curated roll is IS 5 Circle, High-Caliber Rounds, Grave Robber and Quickdraw. Random rolls can include Overflow, Osmosis, Surrounded, Vorpal Weapon and Elemental Capacitor. Destructoid's recommended roll is Model 8 Red, Accurized Rounds, Overflow and Osmosis (Surrounded as an ad-clear alternative); it notes Osmosis lets you throw a grenade when low on ammo to partly refill the magazine.

Acquisition

Drops from Legendary engrams (decrypted by the Cryptarch) and faction rank-up packages, per both sources. Neither source states it is craftable, Adept or sunset, so that is not stated here.
