Overview

Enigma Protocol is a three-player matchmade activity in the Vex Network on Nessus (Arcadian Valley), introduced in Episode: Echoes. Guardians journey into the VexNet to disrupt the Vex search for Golden Age data. Recommended power on Destinypedia is 2005 (gfinity cites 2020-power enemies; values differ by period). It was moved to the Destiny Content Vault when The Edge of Fate released.

The Taken variant is Enigma Protocol: Corrupted Data.

Launching

Early access came from a secret objective during the "A Rising Chorus" Act 1 quest on Nessus: decode Vex messages at the Cistern and the Tangle, reach the Well of Echoes and drop into a hidden hole. Afterwards it launches from the HELM after the Encoded Log quest from Failsafe.

Encounters and mechanics

A wipe timer starts very short and is extended by destroying network security nodes and Archival Timekeepers. Platforming and arena sections, a Radiolite Circuit puzzle (carry the charge from Vex Charging Pools), nine Choral Denial Agents to kill, a Sparrow section, twenty Encryption Pods to break, then the boss Ainigmatos, the Indecipherable Proto-Mind (Vex).

Rewards

A rare emblem and Legendary seasonal weapons; no Exotics.
