Energy weapon

An Energy weapon is a weapon in the second (Energy) slot of the three Destiny 2 weapon slots: Kinetic, Energy and Power.

Overview

Energy-slot weapons carry Solar, Arc or Void damage, and come in Primary or Special ammo types. Weapons with the barrel facing right in the UI are Energy, while Power slot weapons use Heavy ammo. Weapon slot and ammo type are distinct. Sources only cover older behaviour; check the current game for newer element placement.
