History of En Passant

Overview

En Passant is a Triumph that requires the completion of the chess puzzles hidden in the Unknown Space, tied to the Episode: Heresy event. The triumph carries no associated score or rewards.

How to complete

First collect the 60 hidden chess pieces from around the game world. They are spread across patrol spaces, the Nether, the Court of Blades and vendors.

To start the puzzle:

1. Travel to Eris Morn's flat in The Last City using your Director.
2. Go through the green tear to the High Heresy.
3. Turn right, look over the platform ledge to find a hidden room below, and jump into it.
4. At the chessboard table, choose the prompt to pick up the King. This loads you into the Unknown Antechamber in the Unknown Space.

The puzzle has two stages. The Middlegame is 27 sequential puzzles on the board, and each solved puzzle gives rewards. You can revisit them from the Director. After those, the Endgame lets you place pieces freely. Later you return to the Endgame and place all 60 pieces on the specified tiles to open a chest. A rift on the platform above then leads to a cutscene with the Drifter.
