History of Dual Speed Receiver

Overview

Dual Speed Receiver is the Exotic trait of the SUROS Regime, an Exotic Auto Rifle. It is the Destiny 2 version of the Destiny 1 Focused Fire perk. When aiming down sights, the weapon's rate of fire slows while its damage per shot increases. Final blows made while aiming down sights grant bonus Heavy ammo progress.

The trait sits in the same column as Spinning Up. Using the Alternate Weapon Action swaps the trait to Spinning Up, so only one of the two is active at a time.

Spinning Up for comparison

Spinning Up raises the rate of fire the longer you hold the trigger, from a 600 RPM base to 900 RPM at maximum, stepping up every 12 bullets in sustained fire. That makes it the faster-firing option, and Dual Speed Receiver is the damage-focused one.
