History of Downfall (triumph)

Overview

The Downfall triumph requires the completion of the Downfall mission on any difficulty. This mission serves as the third story mission of the Lightfall expansion, where the Guardian storms the Typhon Imperator to destroy the Radial Mast before it can be utilized by the Shadow Legion. Completing this triumph awards 15 score.

How to complete

To earn the triumph, players must finish the Downfall mission. The mission narrative involves infiltrating Calus's fortress ship and advancing through various sections, including the vehicle hangar, the Apotheca, and the Radial Mast chamber. Key objectives include sabotaging Shadow Legion vehicles, defeating the Tormentor, and destroying the Radial Mast using Dark Resonance and Strand abilities. The mission concludes with an escape sequence involving a Sparrow while Caiatl provides aerial support.

Throughout the mission, players encounter various Cabal enemies from the Shadow Legion, such as Scorpions, War Beasts, Psions, Legionaries, Phalanxes, Incendiars, Gladiators, Centurions, Colossi, and Goliath Tanks. Taken enemies, including Taken Psions, Phalanxes, and Centurions, also appear, particularly during the final confrontation with the Servile Centurion. Bosses encountered include the Fortress Ship Gatekeeper, Tormentor, Kar'uul, Garaask, and the invincible Val Bho'kaurl. Allies such as the Empress's Thresher may assist during combat.
