Overview
Dominion is a round-based 3v3 Crucible mode, a close relative of Elimination. Each round is won by eliminating all three opponents, or by capturing a central Dominion zone. The zone activates 40 seconds into the round and takes 20 seconds of uncontested control to capture. Each player has one life, revivable via their Ghost; first to 5 round wins takes the match.
Where it appears
From Season of the Deep, Dominion replaced Elimination as the main mode for Trials of Osiris. Bungie patch notes also list it as an Elimination variant alongside Countdown and Survival. Details are from search-result summaries and may change by season.
