History of Detainment

Detainment is the bubble mechanic used to reflect Agraios's shot in The Desert Perpetual. A plate player interacts with a Vex receptacle under the platform of the Agraios copy to gain the Alignment Charge buff, which has five segments. Other players run Chronons through the called-out rings to fill it. Once the buff is full, the player's grenade is replaced with the Detainment icon.

Detonating it surrounds the player with a Detainment bubble that protects the group from the Variable Elimination attack and sends the shot back at Agraios. Detonating too early wastes the ability, and it is needed to start the damage phase.
